The successful consortium comprises the knowhow of Atlantique Offshore Energy (the Marine Energy business unit of Chantiers de l’Atlantique), in charge of the design, manufacturing and commissioning of the substation topside and jacket foundation, of GE’s Grid Solutions, in charge of high-voltage equipment and protection control systems design, manufacturing and commissioning , and of SDI, for the transportation and the installation of the platform.
This project in Fecamp, situated in the North-West of France, consists of 71 7MW offshore wind turbine generators for a total capacity of nearly 500MW. The expected power supply generation at its energization planned in 2023, will cover the power private & domestic consumption of 770,000 people, which represents 60% of Seine Maritime inhabitants.
The same consortium was previously awarded the contract for the offshore wind substation of Saint Nazaire wind farm. When completed in 2021, it will be the first offshore wind farm in France.
